Our History

The USJ-R School of Education is dedicated to shaping future educators who are competent, compassionate, and committed to nation-building through quality and values-centered instruction. Grounded in the Augustinian Recollect tradition, the school offers programs in Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as specialized fields such as Special Needs Education and Early Childhood Education. With a strong emphasis on both theory and practice, the School of Education ensures that students are not only academically prepared but also professionally equipped to thrive in real-world teaching environments.

A distinct advantage of studying Education at USJ-R is the direct access to the university’s own Basic Education Department—which includes pre-school, elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels—and its Special Education Center, all located in the Basak Campus. These in-campus facilities provide education students with valuable firsthand experience and hands-on training, allowing them to observe classroom dynamics, assist in instructional delivery, and apply teaching strategies in actual learning settings. As a result, USJ-R graduates are not only qualified to teach in the Philippines, but are also highly regarded in international schools and institutions abroad—making them globally competitive educators who uphold excellence and integrity in every classroom they serve.
